#HerStory 41: Ida B. Wells by Dina Bailey

Dina Bailey, historian and museum professional, shares the turbulent and inspiring life of Southern abolitionist, and activist Ida B. Wells. Wells was one of the founders of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in 1909, a journalist, newspaper editor, suffragist, sociologist, feminist, Georgist, and an early leader in the Civil Rights Movement.

This podcast is a syndication of The #HerStory Podcast, which tells the stories of 50 historical women, not through names and dates of textbooks, but through the voices of contemporary women.

Hear elected officials, academics, mothers, filmmakers, authors, activists, CEO’s, and more offer snapshots of these women’s lives, from the headliners to the lesser-known gems. A project by Chick History.

You can subscribe to the entire series via iTunes and visit the The #HerStory Podcast Website to browse individual episodes and book recommendations.
